FAQs

Questions we hear a lot.

Honest answers to the things people wonder before they show up.

Is it free?
Yes, completely free. There are no membership fees, session fees, or donations required to participate. If you're ever in a position to support us financially, we're grateful — but it's never a condition.
Is it confidential?
Yes. We take confidentiality seriously. What's shared in our groups and conversations stays within those spaces. We don't share your details with anyone outside CSN without your explicit consent.
Who is it for?
Anyone affected by cancer in the Netherlands — patients at any stage, survivors, caregivers, partners, parents, and friends. All nationalities and backgrounds are welcome. You don't need to speak Dutch.
Do I need to speak Dutch?
No. Our community runs entirely in English. Many of our members are internationals who feel more at ease in English than Dutch — that's exactly why we exist.
Do I have to share anything?
Never. You can attend events and groups without saying a word. Many people just listen for the first few sessions — or longer. Listening is participating.
Is it a therapy group?
No. We're a peer support community — people who understand what it's like, because they've been there. We're not a clinical service, and we don't replace professional mental health support. But we're not nothing either.
Where do events and meet-ups happen?
We run events in Amsterdam, Utrecht, and The Hague. Some events are online. Check our events page for current dates and locations.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. Caregivers, partners, and family members are always welcome alongside the person they're supporting — or on their own. There are people here who know what the other side of a diagnosis feels like too.
How do I join?
Fill in our short community form and someone from our team will be in touch. Alternatively, just come to one of our public events — no sign-up needed.
